Cannabix Breath Collection Unit

Cannabix BCU offers convenient point-of-care sample collection with a standardized and repeatable collection process. Technology is designed to target and collect drug-specific molecules from breath enabling accurate and sensitive laboratory detection and quantification across multiple drug classes.

The BCU deposits the breath sample into an innovative Cannabix Breath Cartridge which is shipped to an accredited laboratory and analyzed using the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry instrumentation.

Fast, repeatable, and standardized collection, and laboratory analysis process, ensuring precision and efficiency with every sample.

WHAT CANNABIX BCU OFFERS

Fast, repeatable, and
standardized breath collection

Sample collection takes only a couple of minutes. BCU’s sample collection is fast, easy, and standardized.

Short detection window
indicates the recency of use

Blood, oral fluid, urine samples can return positive results for several hours, days, or even weeks after cannabis consumption. Breath sample provides a short detection window that indicates recency of use.

Dual sample (A and B)
collection

Maintain testing integrity with dual-sample collection. The BCU obtains primary and confirmatory samples at once.

Easy to use, no trained
medical personnel required

Easily collect breath samples with the BCU. The user-friendly design ensures simplicity at every step.

Non-invasive and
non-intrusive

Minimize discomfort and maximize convenience for sample donors with an easy-to-use breath sample collection.

Ambient
air collection

Establish a baseline and eliminate any airborne cannabis residue that could interfere with test results. A background air sample ensures accurate drug detection by controlling for external factors.

MARIJUANA BREATH TESTING

Workplaces - Deter and Detect

Step into proactive workplace safety with non-invasive THC breath collection and laboratory analysis. Fair testing protocols without discomfort for employees enables detecting recent THC consumption efficiently and reliably, eliminating pre-employment uncertainties and post-incident concerns.

Law enforcement - Complementary Testing Tool

The growing concern of marijuana-related impaired driving requires law enforcement to deploy Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) at roadside checkpoints. Field sobriety tests are often subjective opinion of impairment. A conveniently administered breath test at the time of the stop offers a complementary, practical, and objective method to assess the recency of marijuana use.

BREATH TESTING FOR OTHER DRUGS

PANEL FOR RECENT-USE DETECTION

Breath-based multi-drug panel is a laboratory-confirmed breath test designed to detect recent drug use across major drug classes: marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines and methamphetamines, opiates, PCP, and fentanyl. Using the Cannabix BCU and highly sensitive mass spectrometry confirmation, the test offers a short detection window and a more time-relevant alternative to urine, oral fluid, or hair testing.

A NON-INVASIVE, SCIENTIFICALLY DEFENSIBLE BREATH TEST

Developed for workplace, forensic, criminal justice, law enforcement, and other safety-sensitive programs, the test provides observed, non-invasive collection, laboratory confirmation, chain-of-custody support, and scientifically defensible results for situations where recent drug use is the primary concern.

Cannabix Breath Cartridge (BC)

Designed specifically for capturing low-volatile analytes, such as cannabinoids, Cannabix Breath Cartridge features two separate collection pods providing both primary sample and confirmatory sample. The innovative housing design and advanced filter material maximize sample capture efficiency, while eliminating the need for sample extraction minimizes sample loss.

All BCs have a unique serial number and barcode for easy identification, they are tamper-proof and can be easily stored for later analysis.
